Notes for George Washington STONE
It is probable that he went to Adams CO ILL in the 1830s. The will of a George W. Stone was probated 18 Nov 1844 in Adams CO ILL.It mentions wife Elizabeth,son James, son-in-law Otho Bishop, and daughters Semantha, Sary Ann and Elize.9

I have found no record as to who his wife was. From the History of Licking County13 I found these remarks. “There are others who have died out of the township whose records have not been obtained. Among them are James and George Stone and their wives.” However there is a cemetery record of a James Stone, aged 64, a Susan Stone, aged 65, and Rebecca Stone aged 79. There is also this remark: “Thomas and George Stone came to this township from Jefferson Co. Virginia in 1803. They were both men of good morals and useful members of the church. George was a member of the first Methodist, and Thomas of the first Baptist societies in the twonship.”
Deed--Licking Co., Ohio. ABC-139- 150 Acres sold to George George Stone by Thomas & Barbara Stone 1-Feb-1809. Same Description 150 Acres sold by George W. Stone and wife. Elizabeth 30-Aug-1834. Vol 5 PP 147-148.
