It is known they lived in Indiana for sometime but by 1831 they were in Adams County, Illinois. they both died in Macon County, Missouri.1

The following notation was written in his bible with the ate 29 Apr 1836:”Margaret Stone afterwards the wife of George Jonston was born 27 May 1773. Margaret Stone Johnston ws the third cousin of President George Washington.”16
