W. J. POTTER, 57, DIES AFTER ILLNESS OF SEVERAL WEEKS

Funeral Services Will Be Held at SS Peter and Paul's Church At 9 a.m. Tuesday Morning

William John Potter, 57, died Sunday morning at St. Joseph's hospital at 1:15 after several weeks' illness. He had been in the transfer business here for several years. Funeral services will be at the SS Peter and Paul's church at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning, conducted by Monsignor Schilling. The body will be taken to Moberly, Mo., where services at the grave will be conducted by the Rev. Father Vatter of Moberly. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery there. The body will lie in state at the Stegner-Koenig funeral home here until time for the service tomorrow morning. The Rosary will be said at the funeral home this evening at 8:15 p.m. Mr. Potter was born August 13, 1883 in Boonville, the son of John H. and Louisa Back Potter. He is survived by five children by his first wife: William J. Potter, Jr., Mrs. Margaret Bradford, Elmer M. Potter, Mrs. Marjorie Smith, and Eugene Potter, all of St. Louis. He was married on April 19, 1939 to Miss Louise Burlage of Boonville. He is also survived by his father; and the following brothers and sisters: J. W. Stillwell, Higginsville; Mrs. Savannah, Pratt, Kan.; Herman Potter, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Louise McCartney, Springfield, Mo.; W. A. Potter, Boonville; Mrs. Bessie Bennett, Springfield, Mo.; George Potter, Paradise, Ariz.; and Ed Potter, St. James, Mo. He was preceded in death by a brother, John, and his mother.53
