“George Glenn Martin
“George Glenn Martin was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 23, 1997. A lifetime resident of Ponca City, George was 71.
“George Glenn Martin was born on Dec. 17, 1925, the son of Louis and Mary (Raus) Martin. He graduated from Ponca City High School. He served in the 5th field depot of the U.S. Marine Corps stationed at Guam in 1944. George was a 50 year member of the Ponca City Masonic Lodge No. 83, and member of the Conastoga Camping Club, VFW and American Legion. He was employed at Continental Oil Company for 33 years and retired in 1981.
“George was married to Betty Lou Back on July 16, 1947, at Ponca City and together were members of the Grand Avenue Church of Christ.
“Survivors include his loving partner, Betty Lou Martin; one son, George Glenn Martin Jr. and wife Tammy of Owasso; three daughters, Janet Toney and husband Bob of Choctaw, Gayla Dick and husband Glen of Oklahoma City, and Susan Jennings and husband Chris of Ponca City; one sister, Katherine Theobald of Ponca City.
“Also 11 grandchildren, Robert and wife Vanessa Toney, Chris Toney, Cara Toney, Kelley Toney, Brad Dick, Michael Dick, Salem Martin, Sundi Martin, Brock Martin, Kristin Jennings, and Kenny Jennings; and one great-grandson, Tanner Toney. George was preceded in death by his parents, L.H. and Mary Martin; and two sisters, Jayne Fallon and Loretta Hand.
“George's interests included fishing, RV traveling, gardening and spending time with family, children and grandchildren.
“Friends may call at Trout Funeral Home until noon Wednesday.
“In loving response, the funeral will be held at the Ponca City Grand Avenue Church of Christ, 1300 West Grand, on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. under the direction of Trout Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery immediately following services.
“Casket bearers will be Max Hand, Jerry Hand, Bud Fields, Dale Butler, Clarence Logan and Roy Wilson.
“Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Search Television Ministry, P.O. Box 371, Edmond, OK 73083.
