Marge Scroggin Dies; Liturgy Group Member

The entire parish community was saddened to learn of the death of Margaret Scroggin on March 4. She was 60 years old and for several years had been in ill health. Despite this, she was active up until a few months ago, especially as a member of the parish Liturgy Commission. She was a member of that group for more than 25 years. In addition to serving with the liturgical group. Marge had served as president of the Little Flower Ladies Club, and also as secretary and treasurer of that group at various times. She also worked as a teacher's aide and in the gift store and library. "I enjoy doing parish work," she said at the time of a Spirit interview in 1987. "I can't understand why more people don't realize that whatever you give comes back to you." Marge (nee Fraser) was born in the Lemay area of St. Louis but finished high school in West Virginia. She was married in 1952 to Ralph Scroggin. He died in 1979. She is survived by a daughter, Karen M. Baker. and two sons, William D. and Donald G. Scroggin. Her mother, Mary L. Fraser, and a brother, William J. Fraser, also survive. A Daughter, Teresa E., preceded her in death several years ago.

Funeral services were held at Little Flower Church on March 7. Burial was in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. The Spirit staff joins the entire parish community in extending sympathy to surviving members of the family.
