He lived with his grandparents in Bunceton, Missouri, until his father remarried in 1902. He was with the Journal Post Newspaper in Kansas City beginning in about 1915, where he was City Editor, and was State Editor from 1922 to 1942. He was in WWII [that’s what Helen Stone Woodruff wrote] and his Commander was Captain Harry Truman. He was active in the Veterans Organization for most of his later years.
