Errett L. Estes, 81

Errett L. Estes, 81, of Blackwater, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at Cooper County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the William Wood Funeral Home in Boonville with the Rev. Charles Pardee officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday until the time of service. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Prayer services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Errett L. Estes was born June 7, 1917, in Sedalia, the son of Lester and Bertha Pursley Estes. He married Ernestine Potter on Feb. 13, 1937, in Sedalia. She preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 1996. Mr. Estes had lived in the Blackwater community for over 20 years. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Cheney of Asheville, N. C., and Kathryn Ballew of Columbia; one son, Richard Estes of Kansas City, Kan.; one sister, Catherine Wright of Sedalia; one brother, Wilbur Estes of Fredericktown; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.53
